The Architects Wife

Picking the bricks from a pile one-by-one, I stand them up to form a perfect circle.
I take some rope and begin stitching them together; as carefully as your mother stitched that dress for you when you were small.
It looks just as pretty.
I attach two lengths of rope across the brick circle and climb into the centre, crossing the ropes over my shoulders.
Slowly, I stand.
Now trapped, I suffer under weight of my own creation.
